  1. This must be embarrassing for that NDP who was tweeting about how many jobs Eby who was just bragging about unemployment.

Being right in the middle for unemployment rate isn’t really brag worthy.

  2. With BC having the highest cost of living in the country- can you just imagine anyone (specially those with families) losing jobs? Of course it hurts wherever you are but more so here.

Per article – Most the of the losses targeted part-time work (-14,600 jobs), while the finance and real estate sector (-12,500 jobs) took the biggest hit overall, according to Friday’s data.

We loose summer tourism jobs every year don’t we? Real estate is another obvious job that has stalled by the looks of all the for sale signs that never seem to sell. Makes sense.

  4. BC Has been a power house for employment for awhile, however Federal Liberals flooding BC with TFW’s still puts downward pressure on the economy. It doesn’t help that the housing sector is getting hammered because the Federal Liberals don’t know good ways to breath life into it. They’re just keeping it on life support until the election.

But we’re also shedding Summer, so a lot of part time summer jobs have been shuttered because its seasonal.

Keep in mind BC still has the lowest unemployment in the country. However hitting 6% should help in forcing corporations to lose access to new LMIA’s and TFW’s.

What we need is more carbon tax. Certainly making fuel more expensive for working people will encourage economic growth right? Right?
