90 is medium, 95 is medium/large, 100 is large, 105 is large/xl and 110 is xl, I wear xl shirts and buy 110 typically from major brands.
If you are going to medium I would still go with a 95 or 100. Clothing tends to run slightly fitter.
It’s the measure of your shoulder width, I think.
I love it because it’s always the same. 100 in one brand is 100 in another and 100 in the next. “Medium” means nothing because the actual size of M in various brands can vary wildly. Ask your father to measure the width of his shoulders and you’ll be golden.
(I tend to wear either A or M in South Africa, but in Korea I’m always 100, if that helps at all)
