  1. > When asked why Netflix weren’t interested in buying the film, Abassi replied: “Because they have millions of MAGA subscribers in the U.S., which is by far their biggest market.

    > “On a business level, I totally understand that. If you’re in the toilet paper business, you don’t want to alienate half the ass-wiping public. You want to sell toilet paper to everyone.”

    > He continued: “I also understand that they might be worried about angering Trump himself. What happens if he wins the election and then decides to come after them — with the FCC or whatever government power he can use? I totally get their logic. The potential risk is not worth the reward.

    > “But here’s my answer: We’re in the business of content. We’re not selling KitKats. With content, sometimes you thrill and delight people, and other times you provoke or make them uncomfortable. That’s the nature of the content business. It shouldn’t come as a surprise.”

  2. Looks like it’s gonna drive some Hulu subscriptions.

The Walt Disney Co. DGAF about fallout from controversy.

The real answer is that all of the services should have picked it up. Then where would MAGA go?

When big business/the media/and the fucking government started walking on eggshells with these maga psychopaths it was the beginning of the end.

  5. I mean, probably, but also I don’t think anyone’s interested in voluntarily having Donald Trump being an asshole take up more of their time.

  6. From what I’d heard, it depicts Trump in a way you don’t hate him.  The director wanted to humanize him rather than make him completely monstrous.

Where Trump is polarizing, the people who think it’s unfair to Trump don’t know what’s in the movie, and the people who saw it and didn’t like it the movie are hating it because it doesn’t conform to their preferred Trump narratives.

Just an FYI – this is the directors point of view. Not necessarily true, just his opinion.

Controversy sells and i dont buy what he’s saying but i could be wrong.

Welp, looks like it’s time to unsubscribe from Nazi-placating Netflix.
I have no place in my wallet or life for this kind of centrist bullshit.

I haven’t had Netflix for like at least 2 years. I am seeing the reasons for deleting these worthless micro transactions piling up ever since.

  10. Ok – another reason to drop Netflix. It’s not like we will miss anything if we wait 24 months or so to try again … all the same stuff will be there.

Can’t alienate half your base. It’s just a stupid business move.

I think Netflix already pissed off the Trumpers, so most are gone already.
