  1. Pretty good news all around. Unemployment down, >100,000 new FT jobs, employment rate rising, wages still growing near 5% yoy.

    Interest rate neutralization is working it’s course.

    Interesting. I happen to know from family that the public sector has had some layoffs, CRA in particular had some major layoffs lately and has had a hiring freeze almost all year. Most departments in the federal public service are going through cuts.

    So to see jobs go up despite public sector scaling back is sort of a good sign I suppose.

    With the new pipeline moving oil now I expect better economic numbers in the future. Also the scaling back of immigration and foreign student numbers should help wages and job numbers for Canadians.

    So I feel like the government now is moving in the right direction. I’m actually optimistic that economic numbers should be pretty good this year and into the next. Unfortunately it is probably too late for Trudeau. These things should have been done years ago.
