Hallo zusammen!

Do you still need to go there? Because you can simply use that ticket on any other train this day.
You can take a different train with your cancellation documents. It should have a text specifying the conditions. It happened to me, and it was very stressful until DB explained it to me.
That’s a well-known synchronisation issue between the part of the app that handles cancellations and the part that handles route planning. Some times, the “find alternatives” function starts working several hours letter, leading to this confusing UX you had because you checked your notifications quickly.
Your passenger rights aren’t affected, despite this annoying bug. You can either go to the main screen and search for new connections directly, making sure you are only looking at suitable alternatives (no need to book anything new, just for you to know your new schedule), or you can wait for the start-time of your original to elapse, so you can see the passenger rights options in the app (you can say that you didn’t embark on the trip for a full refund).
Your ticket has not been cancelled. Congratulation to an extra cheap flexticket.
