President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his frustration over the exemption of 1.5 million people from military service, prompting the government to suspend certain provisions related to the designation of critically important enterprises until November 15, 2024.
This information is detailed in a government decision document following a meeting, which is in the possession of Ekonomichna Pravda (EP).
The document was published by The Page, and its authenticity and adoption were confirmed by EP’s sources within the government.
“The President attended the meeting and expressed frustration over the exemption of 1.5 million people,” said an EP source, explaining the reason for the decision.
By November 15, a review of decisions on the designation of critically important enterprises and organizations is planned, with the Ministry of Economy tasked with analyzing the results and informing the Cabinet of Ministers by November 20.
The Ministry of Economy, together with the Ministry of Defense, must prepare and present a proposal to the government that includes provisions for reviewing the validity of exempting individuals from military service and possibly canceling such exemptions in cases where they are found to be unjustified.
“The suspension of provisions related to the criteria and procedures for determining enterprises, institutions, and organizations deemed critically important for the economy will be in effect until November 15, 2024,” the document states.
Central executive bodies, regional administrations, and other state authorities have been recommended to refrain from making decisions on such designations until this issue is resolved.
