Economically this doesn’t make sense – but life is not just about the economy. Seeing fewer people might be nice. If you have children, ensuring they will see less competition in job market is also a cool feature – probably appreciated by most parents of young adults. It would be shame if Switzerland went the way of Canada, where basically every “starter job” is done by 50 year old Indian.
