      It’s ironic that this person takes advantage of their freedom to chant “death to Canada”, when doing so in pretty much other country in the world would land you in prison, or buried underground.

      Section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This guarantees “freedom of thought, belief, opinion, and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication.”

      The silence from our prime minister and his cabinet is deafening.   If this was a burnt pride flag and the protesters were screaming homophobic rhetoric I’m sure the whole government would be virtue signalling their little hearts out today.

      I don’t like it and I don’t agree with it. But this is the dark side of freedom. People have a right to say shit I vehemently disagree with. The left certainly had no issue when the Idle No More groups were saying similar things and burning effigies of Harper on Parliament Hill.

      I’m not unsympathetic to the horrible open-air prison situation in Gaza; and I’d like each of them to just accept a 2-state solution and meaningfully forge a new way forward, but these pro Palestine groups seem so fractured, and have factions of ‘from the river to the sea’ it really hard to see their points.
