Need context. Let’s see a map where AAs are more than 13%, since that’s their national average.

Better title would’ve been; U.S. Counties where the African American population is less than 1%

southern MO and norther AR i would guess is because there were no plantations in those areas, thus no slaves brought in (also the whites that moved there were quite poor and could not afford slaves). Anyone else know if that is wrong?

Are there even any true African Americans alive? I know for some reason we still refer to descendants of African Americans, as African American even though they are just Americans. But the ones who arrived here 200-100 years ago should all be dead, no?

Jesus y’all, the racist comments are so cringe. It’s a map, most of y’all probably live in northern states and call the south “fly over states”. Get real. Diversity is America.

So different west of the Mississippi with some exceptions. Also I am shocked to see a parish in Louisiana given I believe the state is the highest percentage AA.

    Wow, what a useless stat.

We have so much access to information. Now more than ever. We could totally break everything down by education and socioeconomic access BUT NO…. “What are the black people up to?” is the question that some asshole asked instead.

  8. Montana is just empty, but Oregon stands out, right?

Lesser known fact: Oregon was founded as a white christian utopia.
