  1. Majority of voters don’t want reform. It sucks but it may be time to stop the cry of he didn’t do it and start to look into why that is so maybe something can be done down the road.

What about fumbling the housing market and making it impossible to afford a home for all younger generations?

Or… Making it impossible to afford creating a new generation.. Since people can’t afford to have kids

I know I’m one of the “PR freaks” who wants *crazy* things, like for everyone’s vote to count, and for Parliament to reflect to reflect the will of the voters, but it was always clear to me, going back to 2013, that Trudeau never had any intention of perusing electoral reform, except as a cynical power grab.

We’ve had two Royal Commissions on the topic, both which recommend a Mixed Member Proportional. Fair Vote Canada and the electoral reform movement were united, Canada needs a MMP system. And that’s exactly the conclusion Trudeau’s own “consultation” produced, despite trying to push STV, which can produce more disproportionate results than FPTP, at every turn.

So of course the only sensible thing to do is claim that there is no consensus (because he didn’t like the consensus) and kill any attempt to legislate reform.
