St. Abo Tbileli-Kirche in Metechi, Tiflis

Saint Abo Tbileli Church is a Georgian Orthodox church at the base of the Mtkvari River cliff beneath the Metekhi Church in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The church is dedicated to Saint Abo Tbileli, an 8th-century Christian martyr of Arab origin who became the Patron Saint of Tbilisi. Despite facing persecution, he steadfastly held on to his faith until his last breath. 

His body was burned and the remains were thrown into the Mtkvari River. The Metekhi rock was the place where he was tortured.
