      This seems a bit like this is an example of terrible-person-just-made-a-good-point. SCOTUS and the federal courts in general are way too willing in the post 9/11 world to allow broad sweeping warrants with accompanying gag orders. In this context, X’s position was highly reasonable from a basic civil liberties standpoint. That Musk and X roll over for authoritarian governments, and would likely never make this argument for a Democratic candidate in a similar situation is noteworthy but incidental to the fact that he was essentially correct here.

      if a data or censorship request matches his politics, as in it’s from a conservative government or good for his political goals, he complies happily and immediately. If it’s from a left wing government or might harm his political goals, he kicks up a fuss and stages an ‘omg free speech’ thing. Dude is completely transparent but thinks he’s very clever.
