Max’s Steaks, iconic philly cheesesteak spot just outside of Temple University hospital. Lucky he didn’t get the crap kicked out of him lol

    >But the disaster didn’t end there.

    >After showing up at a cheesesteak restaurant to campaign under the auspice of an autism awareness event, McCormick went across the street to East Bethel Baptist Church, which happened to be holding an outdoor fundraiser for its food ministry.

    >The Rev. Thomas Edwards Jr., who leads the church, told his campaign to leave because he didn’t want the GOP candidate to use photos of his congregation for campaigning purposes.

    >“You can Photoshop,” he told the Inquirer. “You can make things seem like they aren’t. Maybe they’re going to post we’re eating dogs or eating cats, like in Ohio. Forgive me if I’m wrong. I don’t trust these people.”

We need more people like Rev. Thomas Edwards Jr

  4. It’s funny… people, no matter their political affiliation, generally don’t like being lied to.

Wow and then the church across the street. The quote from the reverend is priceless “You can Photoshop,” he told the Inquirer. “You can make things seem like they aren’t. Maybe they’re going to post we’re eating dogs or eating cats, like in Ohio. Forgive me if I’m wrong. I don’t trust these people.”

I’m hoping that this kind of recurring headline helps to reinforce a persistent message to Pennsylvania voters: these GOPers are freaks. The whole lot of ‘em.

  7. Charity fraud is a major plank of the GOP platform so I expect this to give McCormick a boost.

My autistic rage is intensifying. Fuck you for taking advantage of those who are willing to try and help disabled people. Disgusting.

The Reverend better hope his church isn’t full of Trump lovers like most churches. They will literally exile a man of God to appease a man who thinks he’s a god.

GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick could have avoided this embarrassment if he’d just been honest, and said the following:

“This isn’t a event to raise awareness about autism. This isn’t an event to honor a food ministry. This is an event to promote psychopathy and sociopathy!! My party, the GOP, is the party of, by, and for the psychopaths and sociopaths, and I’m d#mned proud to be one of them.”

A politician I won’t name came to worship at my church recently. What we didn’t realize until after the service was he came in a truck that had a huge Trump & [Candidates Name] sign in the back and he parked it in such a way that it was very visible from the road and where everyone who pulled into church had to drive by it. I know my pastor was upset after he learned about it and wrote the candidate a letter afterwards expressing his disappointment. It just felt dirty.

OFC a Moms For Liberty member was the ringleader in blatantly lying about the purpose of the event and then attempting to gaslight the owner on top of that.

These fucks are weapons grade Karen. 🤮

Does the GOP think we have forgotten how they treated Gus Walz?

They can’t be trusted to do the right thing

  14. The people; well, sane people, know the evil Republican machinery for what it is. A means to oppress and enslave regular Americans.

Lying about an autism event? Do these people have meetings to come up with more horrible ways to be pieces of shit?

  16. raresanevoice on

I would ask if McCormick and the GOP could be more douchey, but I have faith they’ll keep digging to sink the bar even lower

That’s not good press for the GOP, especially in Pennsylvania, any way you slice it.

  18. MoneyTalks45 on

Now the GOP has to trick people in to letting them hold events.

    We’re almost there.

  19. Did he at least talk about crazy conspiracies involving autism? Because I know the GOP is crazy but it should have been pretty clear that a business would be annoyed if you acted like your event was for charity but instead it was just a campaign event, considering a non-innocuous campaign event could be bad for business most people would want to know what they’re going to be seen as endorsing.

  20. Made_Human76 on

I’ll never understand how someone can be part of a charity that helps people with autism and still be a member of the MAGAt cult. Or even worse, that gang of unfit parents Moms for “Liberty”

  21. >it’s always autism awareness because I’m an education advocate

That makes sense. I used to be a line cook, so no matter where I go, it’s always a kitchen.

If you have to lie to promote your agenda, maybe it isn’t good to begin with?

  23. toughguy375 on

If you want a business in Philadelphia to use as your backdrop, I know of a landscaping store you can go to.

  24. HoratiosGhost on

Every single time a republican speaks they are lying. Fucking garbage
