      It isn’t JUST an age gap though is it. It’s the fact that they met when the boy was at school and were “friends” for a while before the boy was old enough to consent. Gross.

      He spent most of his screen time being sanctimonious, whilst all the time being up to no good. He was being duplicitous, and betrayed his wife and family. He didn’t even apologise himself. Holly had to do it whilst he sat there like a naughty school boy. He was often judgemental and critical of others, whilst being deceptive and immoral himself. The man’s a total hypocrite.The fact that he wants a comeback, after being on TV almost every day, for over two decades shows he’s simply not self-aware. Viewers were tired of him before any of this even came out. Nobody has missed him, or called for his return. He’s a tainted product no one wants to buy anymore. He could have come out of the broom cupboard at anytime previous to the scandal. It’s not like daytime TV is entirely devoid of popular gay presenters, guests, and entertainers.

      Just a reminder that Schofield met the boy he had his affair with when Schofield was about 45 and the boy was 15. They met at the boy’s school.

      Schofield stayed in contact with him for four years and Schofield claimed they were “friends”. Schofield was married during this time too.

      When the boy was 19, Schofield got him an internship on his TV Show. Their sexual relationship started when the boy was 20, according to Schofield, who was still married at the time.

      Schofield is a groomer and that relationship was seriously inappropriate because of the power imbalance. If the best you can say about something is “at least it’s not illegal”, there’s a good chance you shouldn’t be doing it.

      He has zero insight into his behaviour, why the hell is he still being given a platform to whinge on?

      Imagine if Holly Willerby had been having it away with a lad of 15/18 ,whilst married , and had done the same kind of shenanigans , there would be uproar .       Comparing himself with DiCaprio is a non-starter right away – he gets as much flak as Schofield if not more. Plus he doesn’t groom them from a non-consensual age.

      AND claiming Homophobia??!! Nobody cares that you’re Gay, Phil!!! I certainly don’t! This guy isn’t right in the head.

      I like the comment about this series being Philip Schofield’s pity party – that pretty much sums it up. I hope the guys a goner from the world of showbiz.

      I liked Marina Hyde’s take on it. Check out her comments on ‘the rest is entertainment ‘. One of her comments was a ‘picnic of narcissism’. And he takes him apart.

      Another comment was pouring scorn on his ‘legacy’ as in, what legacy? He was a pre lunch TV host. Which has trundled on without him.

      He is in his own bubble of self regard. And no one gets a right to reply. Not ITV and the people he worked with. And not the young man, who now has to live with this over his head for the rest of his life.

      Just look at Jermaine Jenas for a recent example of a straight male in the entertainment industry engaging in inappropriate relationships in the workplace.

      Obviously it’s not the same scenario, but it does show how attitudes towards these things are changing. I feel like 10+ years ago he would be correct and a lot of inappropriate sexual behaviour would be brushed under the carpet when the offender was a straight male. But things are changing and allegations like this are being taken much more seriously, regardless of the genders involved.

      I’m pretty sure the vast majority of age gap relationships are between people where one of them didn’t know the other as a child.
      Schofield seems to trying to deny this was the case with him.

      It’s really difficult to listen to a man turn himself into a victim of homophobia when he has a wife of 30 years sat waiting for him at home.

      I’d also question whether Schofield actually is *gay*, or whether he just has a predilection for teenagers above the age of consent.

      Speaking as a gay man, there’s a difference that goes beyond personal preference.
