      The vast majority of this can be mitigated by maintaining private accounts and not using one’s face for a profile pic.

      That said, this in and of itself isn’t specifically future tech, as all of it has existed for several years now. However, the uses for such a device are only beginning to be explored.

      Imagine a usage wherein you could identify stray animals to help return them to their owner, by cross-referencing Missing Pet posts.

      Well, there’s some dystopian bullshit we don’t really need. Hopefully this tech gets regulated, if not outright banned. The security implications alone should be a concern to everyone.
