Typical NPD move – their brain can say “see I was right” no matter which way it goes.

Not trying to be pessimistic but I’m bracing for Vance to edge out a win in this debate.

There is no way that a Yale educated lawyer that is 38 years younger than Trump and saw Trump get beaten like a gong is going to walk into that debate anything other than overprepared.

But then again, Shady Vance has been making a very strong argument that he is a Democratic double agent since the day he was selected as VP so I could be wrong.

They’re planning another stochastic terrorist attack to distract from the debate.

Vance can’t discuss policy; governing for the people is anathema for Republicans, and they don’t want anyone to know about Project 2025. He’s going to resort to lies, name calling, and repeatedly saying “China,” as if Walz works for the PRC.

That’s all he has, and in the coming days the media will amplify these red herrings instead of focusing on substance.

  5. He should be. Harris kicked trump’s ass, and Walz will kick vance’s ass.

I guess even “daddy” Trump doesn’t have confident in his “baby boy”.

JD Vance is going to be the fall guy for why Trump loses the election. Trump will throw him under the bus so fast and MAGA will go bananas on JD. Bet me.

  8. Remember, Walz can be an attack dog, he is the VP, not the POTUS candidate. In fact, VPs DO NOT MATTER (well, until they do).
So Walz can call VD Vance a lier, and can call out woman that have died because of the abortion ban. He can call Trump a brain dead old shit head that lies, and that’s ok. KH, she’s the POTUS, she needs to be calm, maybe just snicker.
Walz, do not be a docile fucking mouse. East VD’s soul, if he has one.

As a life long Minnesotan I’m pulling for Walz 100%. Governing is Tim Walz strong suit, not necessarily campaigning, but he’s definitely solid.

I wonder how much time will be wasted on talking about pet eating Haitians.

Of course he’s going to lose! The Republicans have no domestic or foreign policy positions at all. All they do is spread hate and lies. That’s their identity.

  12. Tensions must be high between Thiel and Trump for forcing Vance on him

Tomorrow Trump will say “Everybody is saying that JD won the debate by a huge margin. 95%, 87%, 80%. It was tremendous win in polling.”

I already prepared when it was announced. He’s the dumbest vp pick in us history

“There’s no way he could’ve lost! He’s so straight!”

*what an odd thing to say dot jpeg*

I guess when you’re a massive loser yourself it’s easy to spot the signs in someone else

Didn’t Vance go to Yale law school? He’s not dumb and he may very well be capable of holding his own in a debate. I think people are mistaking his weird social awkwardness for stupidity and I’m worried that this low bar is going to help them spin his performance into a win.

  18. I miss the days when debates weren’t so hyper-focused on who won or who lost, but instead allowed for the voters to learn about the candidates positions and preferred polices.

If that happens, then the voters win, which is what should be the goal, IMO.

  19. I dont think Trump could handle a VP getting better reviews than him.

Is Vance going to be fact checked on anything or will every question focus solely on Walz having to justify teaching in China and prove he’s not a Communist.

  21. Potential_Degree7089 on

It’s odd how we treat debates like sports events, waiting to see who “wins” as if a single night’s performance defines leadership. If we’re picking a VP based on debating skills, shouldn’t we be more focused on actual policies than a made-for-TV showdown? Does a great debate really make someone fit to lead?

Big “I’ll release my taxes once the audit is complete” energy here.

  23. BuckyJackson36 on

I’m not sure it will be an easy debate for Walz. The rules of engagement will be critical. Vance will interrupt constantly. And when he’s not doing that, he’ll listen to the question then answer a question that was never asked making sure he can include as many falsehoods as possible. Vance may be a lightweight on policy, but he’s a rabid pit bull on bullshit.

  24. Moritasgus2 on

I’m nervous honestly. This is right in Vance’s wheelhouse and not at all in Walz’s. Walz needs to remain calm and state up front that you’re going to hear a lot of lies and he’s not going to be able to fact check all of them.
