  1. That’s strange. Ain’t he running on this whole…get rid of the immigrants thing? The voters in Canada are an interesting bunch.

Before this gets filled with “but conservatives have immigrants” talking points. Pierre Pilievre’s actual proposal is to [align immigration levels with homebuilding](https://financialpost.com/real-estate/pierre-poilievre-pledges-tie-immigration-levels-homebuilding).

Look, individual immigrants by-and-large are not the problem. They face all the same struggles when it comes to cost of living, sky-high housing costs, lack of services that everyone else does. The immigration system, however, is broken. Under the current government immigration has far outaripped Canada’s capacity to integrate people into our society, while also reaping the benefits of immigration to raise everyone’s standard of living. The result, everyone is pissed off at the government for their irresponsible and reckless handling of the immigration system.

Not surprising. In my experience immigrants are typically more conservative. Never met an immigrant who was so thankful to be canada that they personally thank the current prime minister or party.
