I know this is used for scientific purposes but when I read articles like this I always like to imagine some random person in their house measuring their lettuce trying to figure out how much their lettuce is infected

Are lettuce infections a big problem? I know plants have blights and diseases, I’ve just never heard someone mention lettuce disease being a big issue.
