Under Kotick these shows would certainly have flopped and harm the franchise(s) even more.
What a shame.
The video clips you can see for various Overwatch characters have so much charm and emotion despite the short video lengths.
Really makes me wonder what potential stories they could have told if they had the proper opportunity to produce full length shows.
i wouldve watched. i loved Arcane, dont even play the game anymore.
The lore in Diablo alone would give them content for decades. Too bad maybe it for the best it fell through.
An Overwatch series would have been great. 7 years ago when the game was at its peak.

It’s fucking mindblowing how Overwatch was arguably **THE** biggest IP on the planet for like two years, and not a single thing of substance ever came of it.
Netflix can’t adapt shows well so this is for the best.

Diablo especially could have been a nice addition to the adult animation boom

Overwatch series on the style of the character animations would’ve been so good. Didn’t even have to be a series, an anthology of 22-min episodes with a character or a couple would already be fire

That seems to be Overwatch’s MO; “what could have been”.
With how they developed it, it’s like they had a prize winning horse from a third strand breeding program out of nowhere. They took that horse to show… and then just starved it while simultaneously using it to pull two carts so that everyone could see how strong it was and see its muscles well. And then it started to collapse because it was underfed…so they started cloning a new one, took all the original’s food and gave it to the new one, pushed the new one out before its back legs were grown because the money makers wanted it released asap, and so now they have a dead horse and half of a new horse while the breeding program has been scrapped because it cost too much.
Overwatch is way past its peak, Starcraft is just a ripoff and discount version of warhammer 40k. I can maybe see them doing something with Diablo though but thats it
Netflix wouldn’t put micro transactions in it and Activision was like NO DEAL

What would a Diablo movie even look like. Grinding to get to level 50 as fast as possible? The storyline is secondary at best to the game mechanics.
They did get the Warcraft movie going….
Diablo in the style and quality of Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Castlevania would be awesome.
I’m not super disappointed. I don’t have faith the result would have been good with the current blizzard.
