Laws and rules probably won’t stop the people who breed such a dog from selling them.

  2. They could change it to a life sentence. Won’t matter a fuck if the current level of enforcement continues.

The use of the word “victim” here isn’t as straightforward as it might be…. large elements of unbelievable bad luck, large amounts of being the victim of an assumed risk, and in between them a bunch of people have lost a family member and friend.

There should just be a blanket ban on dog breeding and have a specific caveat on so-called “designer dogs”.

The negative outcomes are numerous with the XL Bully being one of many. The dog is the product of eugenics plain and simple and they are responsible for something crazy like half of overall reported deaths by dogs in the past few years. There’s an argument to be made that with the appropriate care, the right owner and the correct conditions that XL Bully’s wouldn’t be an issue but unfortunately that’s just not the case. An XL Bully is seen is a product that requires minimal investment of food, shelter, water and attention and they get a big animal that is designed to intimidate people and that’s already a bad mix from the get go. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with an XL bully that I think would be able to survive an encounter with one if, based on what they told me, they got in a stressful situation with the animal.

As I said though it’s one problem of many. It’s something that’s being recognized in recent years by various countries that are bringing in snout measurements to insure that animals aren’t so inbred as a result of these designer breeders that it causes negative health complications, most of which are not readily apparent on first sight but if you want dogs that’s are inbred and it’s visible on-sight the pug being a prime example or [Bull Terriers](https://external-preview.redd.it/4pSR6sS9rA6uuOhcVGDwSE1nQQSGZhhvo3grsm9r6_0.jpg?auto=webp&s=5d5af6542614a3b347fcfcaa0eac26049cf5cc62). Most major veterinary organizations have said that dogs are dangerously inbred. “breeds” of dog shouldn’t exist, at least not in the way they are now as all of them are “breeds” we made up to serve specific functions based on desired characteristics.

It’s not on, it creates a poor life experience for the animal, it creates breeds like the XL Bully who are many times more likely to harm their owners and/or people around them and even just the acts and practices involved in the breeding process are manky and cunts shouldn’t be profiting off that.

The irresponsibility of owners who say “it’s not the dog, it’s the owners”, OK then get another breed? there’s loads out there to choose from, surely there can be no other reason to get an XL Bully besides their ability to inflict incredible violence upon other animals or people, or at the very least have the threat of that?

Like imagine living in a home knowing that if one of them decides to go for you you’re absolutely fucked, imagine trying to placate people (“no don’t worry he’s fine”), what about your kids? what if your kids have friends over? Going to a dog play area? Just walking the thing?

Literally no reason to have one.

    Fucking dickheads.

As cruel as it sounds, they should all be neutralised. They’re a danger to society. Anytime I see them around Dublin, there’s never a muzzle on them, and usually a joint hanging out of the owners mouth.

The temperament of the dogs doesn’t really matter unless the dog is strictly trained to be a guide dog, because most dogs do get snappy with people. It’s just that instead of it being a little dog who growls and shows their teeth, it’s a 150 pound dog bred to be hyper sensitive to adrenaline and block out pain. I’m sure if my dog was an XL bully it would’ve torn my face off, that’s why I wouldn’t ever buy an XL bully, I’m not a professional dog trainer with years on my belt. I’m not feeling lucky enough to expect my dog to never get snappy at me.

  8. I say this every time these posts are made but we really need to teach people in school how to recognize the warnings signs dogs give. I looked at the videos that poor woman posted and in quite a few the dogs look stressed. They have subtle signs like ears back and lip licking which means they are nervous and she grabs them and hugs them while they look like this. Any dog can attack and even a Labrador’s bite, at 1,000 newtons, is only slightly less stronger than a pitbulls at 1,050 but Labrador’s tend not to be the dog of choice for backyard breeders and a particular kind of person wanting to look intimidating. The big issue with XL bullies is they are 1. Not a real breed, so no temperament or health checks will be done and 2. There is a potential for inbreeding causing neurological issues or having them passed on.

When I was a kid it was badly bred German Shepherds, Dobermans and Rottweilers that were the dangerous breeds, and certainly caused injuries or more to people, but now you see less of those breeds causing issues as they tend to come from more reputable breeders these days and the people buying them aren’t the same types as those buying XL bullies.
