Prost.

  1. Shhhh! They’ll say they need to increase the TV license to be able to afford good lenses or bigger sets!

I agree, say this every time I watch the Weather, its embarrassing stuff. It’s like they are using a flip phone to film it.

I always say it when it’s on the telly. I used to work with livestreaming and green screens. All they have to do (which I’d say they already do) is tape down a line that he can’t cross to stay in focus if its a camera where you have to set it and can’t change it. They have the cameras able to do clear videography. But no. It’s like the weather person is in the witness protection program

  4. Met Eireann produce their own segments, nought to do with rte directly.

Yer one in the second pic looks very upset… i might be wrong… its a bit blurry..

Am I imagining it, or was it better before? Strangely, it seems that they downgraded the quality rather than it being a case of old tech that was never updated.

Open to being corrected, but I’m convinced this was not a thing a few years back. Or perhaps Jean Byrne’s famous dresses just distracted me from it.

It’s not the camera, those people are blurry in person. It’s a terrible affliction and there’s no cure

You’d think the national television broadcaster of Ireland would be above to focus a camera at minimum but nope

  9. You really don’t want to see most RTE presenters without the blur.

Its intentional, there’s a “someone needs to kill that thing before it turns into a full vampire” feeling to it.

  10. Anyone know what the story is with their continuity clips? You know the ones they play just before a program comes on?

There’s ones they use that must be 20 years old. One with a female runner stretching her leg on a wall or something and another with a young lad getting a kiss from a girl.

  11. It’s honestly surprising RTE doesn’t give yesterday’s weather.

  12. It’s pretty bad when a tv studio is producing images they are worse than a typical mobile phone!

  13. The sound is worse! Its like they are using a mic from a Gateway 2000.

I just watch their eyes to see if they blink twice for help!

It’s the extra spacing on one side of the place names on the map that drives me mad.

It is kinda piss poor that budget streamers on twitch have better setups.

  16. Jesus Christ, if you can’t be arsed learning how to focus the camera just use your phone please it’ll turn out better!

  17. That’s because they use a blue screen and rubbish cameras they should use a green screen, and since it’s a blue screen, they have to kind of paste him/her of it
