Obviously cheating is horrible, especially because it shattered Dave Grohl’s good guy persona. But I’m surprised they cancelled pre scheduled shows (since it’s not a tour), and then focused on whatever else he needed to. Since a rockstar cheating on his wife isn’t exactly unheard of.

Odd: utterly inexcusable but completely expected at the same time. It’s Dave, he’s “a good guy”, but he’s a (somewhat old-school) rockstar. In the end, he’s a total hero who made an unforgivable dick move. I feel terrible for his family. An affair makes a bloody fucking mess of things. Let’s hope they can make a new life out of the debris.

I think this is a little extreme. Yeah, Dave is not a good dude. But, this is nothing that a ton of other famous rock bands haven’t done. I don’t think an indefinite hiatus is really warranted just because the frontman cheated on his wife.

This puts the band on indefinite hold but Taylor’s passing didn’t?

I always thought Dave was the most stand up guy in rock n roll but damn. I think this kinda thing puts a stink on him that will take many years to wear off.

The whole reaction to this is ridiculous. Why are people pretending like groupies for celebs (ESPECIALLY for rock and roll musicians ) haven’t existed for decades? And those musicians (doesn’t matter if they’re married or not) CONSENTUALLY sleeping with said groupies happens all the time?

It also wouldn5 be inaccurate to say, if every rock band deserves to be “cancelled” just cause a member with a SO slept with a groupie, not a single rock band would exist.

Crazy that Kurt Cobain’s grandchild is the same age as Drave Grohl’s new baby

    8. This comment section is just screaming “dead internet” to me.

I feel like this went without saying. Yeah, they’re probably not gonna play for a minute. Eventually more details will come out about this affair and we’ll all know more.

In 2-5 years, we’ll have all forgiven him after witnessing him rebuild himself and we might love him more because we love when our heroes have massive flaws because it makes them like us. See Tiger Woods.

Was it with a alien from one of the UFOs he called with his mind?

    10. It’s funny because they were aids denialists but this is what did it.

Stop trying to destroy a person for making a mistake in his personal life. He is not perfect neither any of us. Let him fix his life and get back stronger

      There goes my hero…

Just won’t be able to be sung the same again.

      Again, this is fucking stupid.

If you’re the one having a problem with Grohl having an affair, go ahead and boycott them. But to shame them into hiatus is fucking stupid. Not everyone is you or share your feelings. And you’re probably being hypocritical if you find Grohl’s actions being too much for you but just an insanely long laundry list of bands you probably still listen to. Bonus points of complete irony if you have listened to Fleetwood Mack at any point in your life.

Ach, that’s just ridiculous. So he played away- it’s not like he’s the first- but it shouldn’t make any difference to the band

I was out at a bar a few weeks ago and his wife was out partying with some other rich dude. We starting talking with them and she told me she was married to the lead guitarist for the foo fighters but I didn’t put two and two together until I saw all the articles. Crazy stuff.
