The Irish government should straight up solve their housing crisis, for a start.

I used to work for an english company that had 3 factories in Romania. They sold everything they produced to themselves in Netherlands and the UK and the Romanian company never produced any profits nor sold anything to include VAT. All my country got is minimum wage jobs, around 2000 of them. I don’t know why my country allows it.

  4. Investing in the decarbonization of the energy sector would be a good start. The yearly carbon intensity of Ireland’s electricity falls behind much of Western Europe and is comparable to Bulgaria (if we look at the 2023 data).

They never asked for this. In fact, they insisted on not wanting that money. So I’d gladly take it.

People are joking about a monorail but that is ironically what we need…well a metro to the airport

Knowing how ireland has a habit of slightly overspending on things, like the worlds most expensive bike shed that doesn’t even hold 20 bikes, aswell as the most expensive children’s hospital, I’d say €14.1b will be wasted on champagne, caviar, hookers and probably some nose snow aswell

Investments in Defense, Housing, Healthcare. I think that’s what the Irish have been asking for some time now.

Alternatively, give that money to Mario Draghi for his Europe plan.

We can build 41k bike shelters with that, or one more children’s hospital if we cut some corners.

IIRC the MoF indicated that some of the money will go into water, energy and housing infrastructure, some will go into the wealth funds, rest TBC.

Build more affordable housing for it ‘s citizen and improve healthcare. It is no brainer.

Buy 14.1 billion euro worth of Apple stock. Collect the annual dividends and growth. Someone do the math how much that’d be.

  13. Filling private pockets at public expense. That’s how this lot will spend this money. And then find scapegoats. And why not; they have now a trope of morons voting for them. The shit shoe continues.

How much would every working adult in Ireland get if you handed it all out equally?

Housing for example 🙂 But I bet this money will definitely go to the pockets of some politicians businesses.

If you give me the .1, I’II promise to make a really good potato salad.

  17. Don’t spent it I say. They still have 59% debt to GDP ratio. Put it in the government bank account and use it to service government bonds as they expire.

They should use it to build a tunnel to Great Britain or some other ridiculously expensive piece of infrastructure that will pay itself off in 100+ years.
