    >Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday survived a vote of no confidence, with 211 lawmakers opposing and 120 in favor, in the first major test of his minority Liberal government.

    >Trudeau’s tenuous grip on power is set to face more challenges in the coming weeks, with the main opposition Conservatives vowing to try again to topple the government as early as Tuesday.

The Liberals are cooked, that has been the common opinion for a while but It was not expected to pass. The NDP and BQ have no interest in seeing the CPC come to power a year early. they have nothing to gain and they aren’t ready for an election.

Conservatives are expected to win the next election decisively, however the next scheduled election isnt for a while yet. Trudeau has kind of reached that point where Canadians vote out a government, but he will persist until then.

Smol PP is our Trump. That guy shouldn’t be running anything

Edit: Even Colbert calls him “Canada’s Trump”.

  5. The far right wing is the leader of the opposition with no plans and a desire to destabilize. It’s a serious problem we have.

Russian disinformation has done a lot of damage.

Cute that this is considered world news. Especially since we Canadians already knew for a week that the NDP and Bloc said they weren’t going to vote for it.

Why bother clinging to power in a minority government? You can’t DO anything if you don’t have any support. Fucking give it up Justin. literally 75% of the country doesn’t want you in charge anymore.

Cool that the conservatives will continue to waste time and money forcing an early election through means everyone know are going to fail..

Trudeau did a great job, barring some bullshit. He’s been serving during a very difficult time, and I respect that. The cons are going to remind us of this era fondly, and we will deserve what we get with cpc

Crazy. All the Russian bots on Twitter and Reddit would have you convinced that no political party would ever vote against this, and that every Canadian thinks Trudeau needs to “retire now”.

This is not world news lol.

Everyone in Canada knew this was a very very stupid political stunt.

    To summarize:

Canadian Election Rules: Winning an election gives you 4 years in power.

    Conservatives: Surprised Pikachu Face.

Man people in the comments are fools thinking Canada is doing good. Can’t afford a house, healthcare sucks, unemployment is ramming up, mass immigration, wages stagent, groceries expensive. Problem is all the parties work for corporations and don’t care about helping Canadians first.

Does anyone know if there is a financial cost to these types of things? Like funds utilized to facilitate the vote that would otherwise not be utilized for stuff like this?

I’m just curious if this places avoidable burden on the tax payers, like everything else government does.

  15. That’s fine. We can wait until next year and watch them sweat trying to back pedal all the immigration and international student changes that ruined our communities. Then we can kick them to the curb.
