Atos Romanian branch forces employees to quit resulting in a suicide
The article is in Romanian and can easily be translated with chrome/Google translate.
I want to bring awareness to this case and how far corporate greed can go and the unfortunate consequences it can have.
For context the Romanian branch made the decision to downsize. Instead of paying 3-10 monthly salaries as per the contract, the leadership decided to force people to quit, not having to pay the people they wanted to let go.

ATOS still has a shit tone of money to spend on Euro 2024, but not enough money to keep their employees paid with 800 euro per month.

Read about this yesterday. The way some of the leadership at that company conducts itself is egregious and they deserve to have their careers ended + a nice police investigation for driving someone to suicide (might be wishful thinking).

Fucking scum.
A few years back there was a huge scandal at the French historic internet provider, with 35 suicides in a short span due to middle management forcing people to quit.
The company signed a few checks, and not a single one of those bastards went to jail.
Looks like they found another job…

A friend of a friend worked for a French company here in Bucharest, where they had around a hundred employees doing internal bureaucracy for that large corporation.
Anyway, some employees started the legal steps for organizing a union. The management came and said that rather than dealing with a union (which apparently they had to do all the time back home in France), they’d rather close down the whole Romanian subsidiary and move the jobs elsewhere.
The employees were scared and backed down; the management had won, there would be no union.

Employment doesn’t seem very safe.

Hope Atos gets to be a case study on “What NOT to do” for dumbass MBAs, but I doubt it.
