[Here is the Reuters article on their latest poll](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/harris-builds-lead-over-trump-voters-see-her-debate-winner-reutersipsos-poll-2024-09-12/):

    > Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris leads Republican Donald Trump 47% to 40% in the race to win the Nov. 5 presidential election. Her lead was slightly higher than her five-point advantage over Trump in a Sept 11-12 Reuters/Ipsos poll.

    > Among likely voters, Harris led 50% to 44%.

This is the largest national lead for Harris reported by Reuters/Ipsos and one of Harris’s highest national leads in *any* poll, I believe. When you look at likely voters, Harris is leading by 6 points, 50% to 44%. Obviously this poll could be an outlier, but if she really is winning the national popular vote by 6 or 7 points, I don’t see how she doesn’t win the Electoral College and the presidency.

We must overwhelmingly let our voices be heard and our votes counted. The only way forward is to destroy Trump at the polls.

  3. The-Real-Number-One on

THIS is why Trump is going to debate again. The only reason he is saying ‘no’ now is because he wants some kind of concession from Kamala so he can feel like a big boy. Unfortunately for him she is smart and won’t negotiate.

  4. GratefuLdPhisH on

Seriously who are these 40% of voters who think yeah trump would be good again as a president?

The man literally attempted a coup several different ways

  5. NoReserve7293 on

What is wrong in this country when such a flawed candidate as Trump can still get 40% of the national vote? Is this a combination of racism and ignorance is or just racism? Vote, vote, vote blue.

  6. DrunkenTypist on

This is a national poll. The Presidential election is state by state and unbelievably (to me at any rate) there are States that have them neck and neck and others that even have this orange poltroon ahead!

  7. TheOhrenberger on

It’s definitely not a coincidence that the polls get wider as Trump goes further and further off the rails. This country is tired of his shit.

  8. NotAnotherEmpire on

All of these figures are possible with a central tendency of Harris +3.5. The split in polling though by type is pretty stark.

Scientific online polls are near non-competitive margins like this one. Both nationally and in the implied results from state polls e.g. Wisconsin 52-48 Harris (Marquette isn’t a phone pollster anymore, deeming it unreliable).

Phone polls are generally closer to that + 2-3 D range where you wonder what the EC bias of Pennsylvania is vs. a national %.

And then there’s whatever NYT / Sienna is doing which is currently to the right of the partisan R pollsters with super-cheap methods. If NYT/Sienna wasn’t included at all, Trump would look pretty cooked. Their split and weight in averages has that big of an effect.

  9. reddittorbrigade on

CNN has been bragging on tv that Trump is the most trusted in economy.

    Selective breaking news.

I’m not invested in the national polls anymore. The only ones that matter at this point are the swing state polls. We know more people overall like her more than Trump, but it’s the stupid electoral college that are making this thing an uphill battle for her.

  11. God the sooner this election is over with (and hopefully Kamala winning), the better. If Kamala wins, this will hopefully be the final straw to deal with Trump once and for all and hopefully those dealing with investigations against him realize that sitting around and taking too long is no longer viable against such a horrible person who will try this shit again in 2 years.

  12. Necessary_Chip9934 on

Should be 90-10%! I don’t understand why the polls are so close. (Not looking for an explanation, btw.)

and in 30 seconds, another story will be posted about how the election polls are “razor thin” and this election is going to be tight

  14. Dangerous-Client7820 on

This is great news, but I was watching Trump’s rally on YouTube and there are still a lot of disillusioned people out there. But we really must destroy all of MAGA at the polls not just Trump. Because we must abolish all of MAGA or it will never go back to hell where it belongs

Kamala is going to win. Now we have to wait to see how much cheating and violence Magat’s will do, and if congress will certify the election.

  16. Jagermonsta on

She’s polling above 50% in a lot of polls and he’s hitting a bottom of 40% now. We need to see more of this. Polls with her ahead outside MOE.

  17. HeloKittyGoodbyeFash on

It’s over. He’s finished. I can’t wait to dance on the graves of his entire rotten family.

  18. the_Mandalorian_vode on

Don’t celebrate, VOTE! It’s not over until January 6th, 2025. Fuck Donald Trump, his clan, the Klan and his cult.

  19. question1343 on

Until she is inaugurated, none of these polls mean anything. To add, I will never believe Trump won’t be president again until he passes of old age and is 6’ under.

  20. Oopsyylonn on

Clinton was ahead by an even greater margin in 2016, Trump still won. While it’s looking good for Harris, voters definitely shouldn’t be counting their chickens.

    Edit: Grammar and phrasing

  21. Its not enough, keep fucking going. Remember Hillary and her probability of winning

  22. Ejziponken on

I think IPSOS have a bigger polling error in Trumps favor than most other polls and IPSOS are spewing out a lot of polls for different organizations. I fear that they might skew the polling AVG.

  23. Spaceman2901 on

Who the hell are the 13% “undecided” or 3rd party? This is about the soul of the nation and the fate of our republic.

Our voting system sucks. The duopoly sucks. You can’t sit it out this time.

  24. lordpuddingcup on

As must be said ignore polls and get out to vote

And get others out to vote, drive friends and family, remind people who normally don’t vote to vote

Especially in swing states and Texas and Florida and North Carolina!!!!!!! Please!!!!!

  25. avinthecouch on

Blame capitalizations, but I spent a minute wondering who “Widens” is.

  26. It is still unfathomable to me that so many people support the guy who started a January 6th insurrection on the capital and is a convicted rapist and felon who has been sued multiple times for fraud, once for a children’s cancer charity, has said the most wild and racist things imaginable while promising to be a dictator and half the country is like ya….. That’s my guy, seems like a good leader. Like what the actual fuck am I trapped in a night nightmare right now?

  27. satyrday12 on

I hope that Harris also gets votes from a lot of unlikely, unpolled voters. We need to stuff the MAGA deplorables back into their baskets. They don’t understand our government at all.
