      I love how Ohanian pops up every year to say some sort of Annoying Rich Person thing like this. I’m sure the daughter of Serena Williams is going to have no problem being a great athlete and getting paid way more than her dad ever made at Reddit.

      I wonder if he’s as concerned if the people trimming the hedges at his mansion are getting paid well? Probably not, because that doesn’t affect him or his family.

      So he and Serena are basically saying, this is the barrier to their daughter entering the world of professional sports. Not whether, you know, she wants to, or is good at it, or has the work ethic to succeed.

      And co-opting the language of feminism while buying sports teams to live out some fantasy? Rich people are so out of touch.

      (If Serena said this I might feel dfferent. But their daughter is never going to wont for anything in her life).

      He’s acting like his daughter needs a quality income when she will never want for ANYTHING in her entire life, considering her parents combined net worth is over $500 million right now. They don’t even know if she’s going to be any good at any sport yet, and they’ve already decided that her value is more than other girls who are playing right now. She deserves it more, not because she needs it or worked harder for it, but simply because she’s their daughter and she doesn’t need to bother herself with an athletic career unless she’s making a killing doing it and treated like a star.

      What happened to “not taking more than your fair share” or whatever it was that Michelle Obama was talking about at the DNC? Maybe leave a little in the pot to go to other players who don’t have family money to coast on?! But I guarantee you that if one day a contract is offered to their daughter that is astronomically larger than her fellow players, her parents will have no problem with her taking it, thinking she earned it simply because of who she is/who her mother is.

      God damn there is nothing more annoying than female athletes that are so brazen that they they feel like the public is so dumb that they will all just immediately believe their narrative that sexism and lack of equality is the sole reason they aren’t being paid the same as men athletes in the same sport even though the obvious and accurate answer as to why they aren’t being paid the same is right there staring you in the face.

      It’s not a complex riddle or a head scratcher of a conundrum: You’re a professional athlete in an entertainment based career and the pay rates are determined by how much money your league is bringing in.

      And no one wants to be the person to state the obvious in this case but unfortunately this women’s league is not as entertaining, it’s not as enjoyable to watch and it’s not anywhere near the realm of matching the earning potential of the league of its male counterpart, which is why you don’t make shit compared to the men. You don’t deserve ANYWHERE near the same pay rate in this circumstance just because you’re a female playing the same sport.

      Kind of arrogant to assume that she’s good enough to make it pro in the first place.She could break her leg tomorrow.My friend’s daughter was playing soccer & was a martial artist & now she can no longer participate.
