I don’t care if you believe in God, Allah, Ctulhu or whatever. But the day you let your belief in God make your decisions instead of rational thinking, that’s when I think religion becomes a problem.

>And who is in the service of the Church? There are almost 200 employees in dioceses and diocesan centers. They are paid with money from the Church. But there are also the so-called ministers of worship. They were exactly 2,277 in 2022. And these are largely parish **priests, but also deacons, pastoral workers and parish assistants. They are paid by the FPS Justice. This is constitutionally anchored and involves an annual sum of 500 to 550 million euros.**
Then you have to take into account the property tax reductions the Catholic Church enjoys each year and the Catholic schools and education centers subsidies, this could be also several extra hundred millions.
Religions should be separated from the state and should not receive those huge amounts of public money.

Those numbers look all right.
Except for the apostasy, those are rookie numbers. but it’s understandable since in Belgium contrary to Germany, it doesn’t serve any real purpose yet.

I honestly had the feeling youth believes more and more again. Maybe they just don’t go to church then.

What is there to believe in 😅 we don’t need religion to tell us how to behave, it’s 2024 and time to move on.
If you’re religious that’s also fine, to each its own. But don’t shove it in my face
