He’s not exactly the poster boy for integrity… he’s right, but I wish he would go away

For all the people downvoting me: would you be happy if your daughter married a man like him?

Can’t wait to read the tempered and respectful comments from this.

Despite his failings, in this he is not wrong. I have 30,000 ‘colleagues’ who are out of work due to poor exec planning, greed, and total myopia on whatever they can monetize next. Being roasted by a comedian should be the least of their punishments.

  4. “You look like a group who looked at the self-checkout counters at CVS and thought, ‘This is the future,’” Mulaney said.”

John isn’t wrong despite his morals.

My favorite quotes from the article.

    >“Some of the vaguest language ever devised has been used here in the last three days,” he continued. “The fact that there are 45,000 ‘trailblazers’ here couldn’t devalue the title any more.”

    And

    >Mulaney then shared an anecdote about how he and his son, who is nearly 3, like to play baseball in their front yard.
    >”We’re just two guys hitting Wiffle balls badly and yelling ‘Good job’ at each other,” he said. “It’s sort of the same energy here at Dreamforce.”

I have been to a ton of these conferences and Salesforce’s are among the “cultiest”. Where everyone is part of the “Ohana” and indoctrinated into a corporate culture filled with coded language, over importance and over excitement for what is in essence a fairly mundane corporate product.

Hold on when did we flip on Johnny boy? Was it the coke or what?

    I mean… he’s not wrong. If I hear “disrupt the industry” again…

Why don’t these people get vetted? I heard another story about a very progressive figure in tech got invited for a panel at a tech conference with mostly small business owners. She used her time to complain about what a sausage fest tech was and said nothing about the topics at hand.

It left the attendees more confused than pissed off but many loudly got up and left.

    Good on him.

Tech stinks like Scientology lite. Everyone’s a cross-functional thought leader in their space, and an entrepreneur CEO.

Let me get this straight – you were with your wife, who supported you through thick and thin, for a decade, said to her you don’t want a child, then you cheat on her while basically still in rehab, knock the other woman up, leave your wife and… Have the gall to lecture anyone on what kind of person they are?

    Fuck you, John. Fuck. You.
