Just like many conservative judges, Cannon is bought and paid for. The entire conservative movement in the US is corrupt to some extent, thanks to Trump. I’m sure there was corruption beforehand, but he has allowed it to be rampant.

The Supreme Court is probably untouchable right now (except for impeachment) … but could an ethical referral be made against her? I just checked and apparently the answer yes. I’m guessing the agency is run by extreme Republicans but this is where it would be made:

It is what it is. No doubt about. Judge was pre bought and paid for by the local Conservative group…

Of course she can declare her gratuity now. SCOTUS has said it’s all very legal and very cool

Raskin needs to go full time cleaning up this mess in judiciary once Jeffries is Speaker in January.

I hate this news article, if this is the case put her in Jail or terminate her. If a federal employee accepted a gift they will be fired and might face jail time, and lose money. The news article is just making her famous.

We have a two system prosecution system,

    All this means,

     The government decision table:

If you are poor -> offensive tweet-> jail time

If you are rich -> no jail time -> can do anything you want

Look at Sean Diddy Combs and Donald Trumps both committed sexual crimes.  Combs being held in Detention, and Trump remained free. Why wasn’t Trump held in detention???

  7. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/aileen-cannon-disclosure-reports-trips-1235104678/) reduced by 80%. (I’m a bot)

    > Florida District Court Judge Aileen Cannon failed to disclose her attendance at several right-wing judicial seminars – including one that took place after she began overseeing former President Donald Trump's classified documents case, which she ultimately threw out – in apparent violation of federal court rules.

    > In a separate statement to ProPublica, a clerk for Cannon stated that while the judge had submitted the necessary disclosure, they had not been posted on the website.

    > In June, The New York Times reported that senior judges in the Southern District of Florida had advised Cannon to pass the case along to a more experienced judge – and one with fewer questions surrounding their objectivity.

The absolute non-sequitur note that Thomas made about the constitutionality of Jack Smith’s appointment on SCOTUS’ immunity decision was a clear green-light to Cannon to dismiss the case as well. What better time than right after his first assassination attempt as well. Jack Smith’s appointment was never even mentioned in the arguments before the case. She is bonkers and so is Thomas. I hope they both get their just desserts.

Does Eileen Cannon have 1 picture of herself? I’m sick of seeing that smug ass mug.

  10. Well, surely now she’ll recuse herself from the case and let a more-qualified and less-compromised judge handle such a serious trial.

  11. Oh the irony if she gets punished for protecting Trump. Another Maga soldier he cares nothing about goes down.

  12. NissanAltimaWarrior on

It’s time to start arresting judges for these “oversights.” Biden seems to think it would harm Kamala’s chances but I doubt it. People WANT judges to be held accountable.

  13. If there’s no accountability, why does it matter. Judges should be held to the highest standards of morality clauses, conflicts of interest, or anything that could be deemed corruption, with zero tolerance.

  14. Think_Measurement_73 on

That don’t surprise me, because just like some of the supreme court judges, she is getting paid to turn this country upside down and bring down democracy.

  15. And?

I mean, it reaffirms my opinion of her, but the only consequence she’ll face is public shaming, which would be great, you know, if she had any sense of shame.

  16. Key-Decision8270 on

Of course she did. There doesn’t seem to be anyone on the right with any integrity. It’s nothing but the God-less pursuit of money and power for Republicans.

    Aileen Qannon is a disgrace, water is wet;

Why hasn’t this traitor been disbarred yet?

  18. siouxbee1434 on

Just like alto & thomas & probably a shit ton of other conservative judges. Rules for thee not for me

  19. BrofessorFarnsworth on

The first step to taking these corrupt shitstains to justice is to not make one of them your Attorney General

  20. Hayes4prez on

Bitch ain’t no Supreme Court justice. She actually has to abide by a code of ethics. Demote her ass.

  21. CrotchoMan on

It’s fucking simple; if you WANT to be a judge, you don’t get gifts. How is that NOT ALREADY A RULE?!? Most retail workers are trained to not accept tips, why can’t a mother fucking JUDGE be held to the same standard? Just for the sake of fucking integrity, it should have been rule #1.

    I have no faith left.

  22. Cephalopod_astronaut on

She would fit in very well on our current Supreme Court.

  23. HaliBUTTsteak on

I ask again… is there any other pictures of this judge? It’s the same picture every time.

  24. voyagerdoge on

It’s not just the non disclosure. Accepting these kinds of ‘gifts’ is in itself unworthy of a judge.

  25. Shutaru_Kanshinji on

Everyone knows Judge Cannon is a criminal. It is merely a matter of someone official taking the time and spending the money to gather the evidence and bring the case.

  26. You’re telling me Cannon might be… gasp… ***corrupt?***

    A shocking development, I say.

  27. Fast_Wheel_18 on

Trump didn’t corrupt these judges, they were already bought and paid for. They were compromised by the Heritage Foundation and they were on a list for selection that Mitch McConnell gave to the “useful idiot” aka tangerine tyrant to select from.

  28. Dangerous-Client7820 on

That whole panel needs to be fired. Tired of these pigs who think they are above the law. There needs to be accountability
