The clock is ticking for the US to get back on track with their Latin Americas foreign policy. A Mexico Cuba Venezuela evil triangle would only empower Chinas ambitions on trade dominance.

Guess they’re hoping for a Fascist to take over at some point? This is usually one of the plays.

  3. And this is how they will purge all current Supreme Court justices, paving the way to subdue the country to the whims of the president. Definitely not a great future for Mexico.

  4. I’d argue this may actually be a better system.

Politicians typically choose judges. This means the legislative branch is choosing the people who are going to regulate and review all of the decisions they make…**can you see the issue with that?**

It would be like having a criminal choose the judge reviewing their case.

If the citizens are choosing the judges who regulate the legislative branch’s decisions, that means you’re removing the possibility of corruption with regards to improper relationships between judicial appointments and legislators. That power devolves back to the people instead.

The whims of the moment shouldn’t infect the country for a whole generation. The US is a case study in how life time appointments can hobble a society
