    No one needs to.

They’re doing a good job of that all by themselves.

The current biggest country by area in the world can’t make that work, so they invade a neighbour for more land and resources.

    Like that’s going to help.

  2. OK, vlad, let’s take a plane ride to the UK if you are such a bad ass.

Did anyone expect Mongolia to pick a fight with a regional power like Russia? Not without MAJOR assurance from bigger players, which they clearly didn’t have.

Watching Putin’s pathetic posturing is like watch your kid’s school play: Nobody’s mistaking it for something professional, but the main audience has a vested interest in standing up, clapping, and pretending it’s the best thing that’s ever been produced. I don’t think anyone of even average intelligence—including those who support Putin—thinks his Mongolia photo-op means anything at all. But the goal is almost never to score real points with meaningful politicking. It’s just a dogged determination to continue the dog and pony show that flimsily maintains his grip on power.

  5. Hey Putin, you are welcome to try somewhere else, where it matter more

    “Behold my undeniable power!”

… goes to a land-locked country, flanked on both sides, and heavily dependent on Russia…

    Oh yeah… I’m beholding something…

Congress, please authorize the use of long range precision bombs by Ukraine, thank you.

Opinion: The Russian army and Government would be so easy to take. For the US…. why are we only supplying weapons to Ukraine? Lets bomb them to their knees! I don’t understand why we are fighting this war THROUGH Ukraine, when we can just get it done. They are obviously not capable of standing up against the US..they can barely take on Ukraine!

Honest question, if he were to set foot, say somewhere in the EU. Would he actually be arrested? I’d like to think so, but it would be a huge international issue and the past decade has me pretty jaded.

  11. Cool. They clearly proved no one will mess with them. He should feel totally safe driving into Poland now

Big boy went over the border almost all by himself

Next week he might order his own meal at the restaurant

  13. Dodges arrest?

That’s mighty naive to suggest Putin was ever in any danger of being arrested going there in the first place.

Putin saying ‘hold me back, bro!’ is going to result in him getting his teeth knocked out and curb stomped.

Isn’t that gloating about being a bully?

I mean, mongolia went out of it’s way to explain it didn’t do it because t couldn’t ( being way too reliant on russia economy), not to mention landlocked between russia and china. Fair enough.

It’s not like Mongolia went on and decleared “we reject the ICC and the west because we love russia” or anything.

Except putin. Russia was on it’s way to becoming an economic powerhouse, with democratic values, until putin took over. Went from G7, to G8, with fanfare, and then back to G7, with prdjudice.

Now it’s heading right back to pre ussr disolution economy. The only card of strength, nuclear weapons, that were inherited from the ussr is one that he cannot use, as it ensures russias annihlation. No one else will do well either. Russia would do well to be rid of this maduro like dictator.

  17. Okay Putin, take a gamble and tag along for one of your expensive and luxurious spending sprees in Europe you usually sends your cronies to do. Hope you do.

Saying Putin dodged an arrest in Mongolia is akin to me saying I dodged marrying Beyonce. It was never going to happen. There was nothing to dodge.

“No one can hold us back” is a wild thing to say when you’re the second best army in your own country

  23. Due_Extreme_501 on

Sounds like we should dump a hefty bucket of sanctions on Mongolia, thanks assholes.

Dodges arrest? Was there a badass car chase through Ulaanbaatar that I haven’t heard about? Hardly call being welcomed to Mongolia dodging arrest.
