  1. Netanyahu is allowing hostages to be killed just so he can stay in power. Pretty absurd

Hamas keep declining any deals – how will a general strike achieve anything except for pressure the Israeli government to accept a deal that favours Hamas and leaves Israel vulnerable to another Oct 7th?

As an Israeli I am 100% for retrieving the hostages, even if it means we have to concede many terrorists, and the philadelphy corridor.

However, the Israeli society is torn apart, since “Shalit deal” many people are not so fond of hostages deals with Hamas. Israel released 1071 terrorists, including Yahia sinwar, who is the de-facto president of Gaza Strip, and many general level militants of Hamas, many of them orchestrated the 7/10 terror attack.

Hamas knows that Israeli society sees the return of the hostages as a moral imperative, so they know they can press Israel in negotiations regardless of how war is going. Many Hamas’ terrorists said in interviews that they were promised a house for each hostage they return to Gaza. This is how much Hamas values taking Israeli hostages.

If they give into this they will have to give into other demands in the future.

Our politicians prefer to let all the hostages die instead of giving up control of philadelphi corridor for a *wopping 6 weeks.*

This is pretty heavily discussed in israeli media but i don’t see anyone mentioning it here. The entire deal collapsed over not holding philadelphi during the 6 weeks period of the cease fire.

What can hamas do there in 6 weeks? They can’t dig tunnels or smuggle significant amounts of arms in 6 weeks. The entire security system in israel have agreed that we can give up control of philadelphi for 6 weeks and then take it back within an hour.

Bibi is throwing away the lives of the hostages for literally nothing.

Netanyahu has been getting in the way of a hostage deal for months, likely intentionally to stay in power.

  8. Here I was thinking it’d be the Palestinians protesting Hamas causing the death of civilians
