If you haven’t noticed, the yearly inflation rate for the last month was announced at 0%, and the monthly rate dropped below 0%. Although this period of the year is usually associated with a low inflation rate, and it is believed that the rate will bounce back into positive digits, this time seems quite peculiar. If this post gets a decent number of upvotes, I will write more broadly on why deflation is worse than a high inflation rate and what that entails for our economy.

As a person who works at a grocery store, I haven’t seen any price increase in the last 3 months, only price drops.

I’d really appreciate your analysis of the situation. I don’t see a large move on the chart that is out of the ordinary but I’m only mildly versed to the economics of Azerbaijan. I am currently studying entrepreneurial viability of small and medium businesses tertiary to the middle corridor. Your perspective is valued and the detailed response on this sub will be a great reference for the future for many others yet to discover this sub or why the forex market matters to them. I have had the pleasure of a few visits to Baku recently and will be taking some meetings in the near future. Marvelous place.
