      Haven’t read the article but some legislation stating something isn’t delivered and the customer isn’t responsible until it is inside the house would be great

      Traditional post was successful because it was fairly heavily regulated. Everyone was entitled to receive it without penalties for distance. The postman can’t leave your letters elsewhere and just decide that’s good enough

      You’re completely at the mercy of how good or bad the local driver for a particular company is. For example, I’m in Kildare and the DPD guy who delivers to my area, a Polish man by the name of Marek, is brilliant.

      With others companies you get some useless Dub who hasn’t a breeze where they are once they go by Clondalkin. Could be Donegal, could be Offaly, could be Timbuktu. How they thought delivery driving was a good a career is beyond me.

      Also, you’d think An Post could do more to try to corner the market.

      Fastway are the worst. Our DPD guy is really great but fastway are awful. If I know beforehand that they are the courier I’ll cancel the order. Could find a package a fortnight later in a ditch.
