  1. This is who will likely be running the country soon. It’s needless sniping brought on by nothing more than O’Toole sharing a positive message about a Liberal.

    >Two hours later, Byrne reposted O’Toole’s words and added: “For anyone unsure why Erin is no longer leader of the Conservative Party…. [Anand] supported DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] policies like name, rank and pronouns. Tampons in men’s rooms, etc.”

    >Soudas added there’s an unwritten rule “that once you are no longer leader, it is best to remain silent.”

Really? Someone should tell Andrew Scheer then, and I can’t help but notice he doesn’t catch heat when he talks. Maybe because he’s only negative towards Liberals but who knows.

    >”Like Christy Clark, Erin O’Toole also bought a CPC membership and pretended to be a Conservative,” British Columbia MP Todd Doherty said on social media.

Sad to see Canadian Conservatives taking the route of Americans and yelling about RINOs and CINO.

    >”Looks like the Twitter sphere is having a meltdown about the best political organizer in the business — and it’s not even close,” she wrote.

    >”When she took a break — this party was in shambles. When people counted her out, she was right. And when she came back into the fold — her advice has led to a complete meltdown of the Liberal government who just struck Canadians with their pathetic political drama in the middle of a national crisis

Sounds like nothing more than a PR release. Ironically, some people, not myself, in Lantsman’s own party would simply call her a DEI hire and write her off. Her quote also sounds very trumpian , either be completely behind us, and Jenny, or we attack you.

    >who just struck Canadians with their pathetic political drama in the middle of a national crisis.”

Holy maple syrup what a projection.

    >”I do think that Conservatives get jumped on immediately,” said Galbraith. “We’re told we’re knuckle-dragging troglodytes who have just crawled out of the swamp, and we don’t understand or we’re not evolved enough, right? And I find that incredibly frustrating.”

And what are central Canadians and post secondary educators referred to as by Conservatives and their many media friends.

It’s funny to see a group of people be so crass and then whine and attempt to paint themselves as victims for people saying “wait a minute”.

There’s millions of Canadians who live in this land and, with very few exceptions, all of the ones that I’ve met have been great people. Why is it that out millions of Canadians we somehow always choose some of the worst to represent us?

Real electoral reform would be a system whereby the people who are selected go to Parliament to represent us are those who demonstrate the values we hold most dear, chief among those being basic respect for one another. Instead we have this…

I think the ancient Greeks were onto something with sortition. Plato famously argued that electoral processes by their very nature were oligarchic and went against the principle of rule by the people.

  4. I’ll say it again, I want to thank Jenni Byrne for her service. And Rempel as well as the MP for Oklahoma joined the bandwagon with her immense experience in the CAF.

Byrne is and has always been a nasty piece of work. Her work under the Harper PMO is one of the main things that started the degradation of political decorum in this country, and she became so caustic and toxic that Harper eventually had to fire her off the 2015 campaign. No surprise that her Steve Bannon-lite act is thriving under Poilievre.

  6. I think Erin O’Toole, if he were still CPC leader, would be a much more acceptable choice as future Prime Minister than Poilievre with these CPC polling numbers. O’Toole isn’t a dick. He’s a statesman. His own party vilified him simply for not being conservative enough.

Jenni Byrne represents that Harper era of hyper partisans. They will eat their own, simply for not being as right-wing as them or for being courteous to a parliamentary colleague. And there are many CPC moderates like O’Toole. If this is how they treat him, imagine the others for not conforming to groupthink.

Poilievre and Byrne need to be careful of riding on their high. Nothing lasts forever. And much of this support gain comes not from their own merits, but comes from those tired of Trudeau. Treat them like this, and eventually, they’ll turn on you, and won’t come to your rescue at the polls when you need them most.

Alas, this is the government we are going to get, unfortunately.

Byrne obviously has some mental health issues to deal with. It’s unfortunate an individual who’s clearly struggling to cope with some sort of demon has such a profound impact on how the official opposition sees and presents itself.

  8. > “Like Christy Clark, Erin O’Toole also bought a CPC membership and pretended to be a Conservative,” British Columbia MP Todd Doherty said on social media.

Sure “pretended” for a long time, then…

More than a decade as an MP, some time as a cabinet minister, and don’t forget, your party’s membership voted for that “pretender” to be their leader.

Christ, this rhetoric is garbage, it’s a pity that these people will almost certainly be our next government.
