    1. >In a new Us Weekly cover story, Shields, 59, shared that the incident began when she paid a visit to her gynecologist, who inquired whether she had experienced discomfort over the size of her labia. When she admitted to enduring “bleeding and chafing” for years, the “wonderful” doctor told her a surgical reduction was possible.

      > “Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic, which is very interesting,” Shields observed. “The last time I did check, I did not want to be a porn star.”

      >At the recommendation of her gynecologist, Shields went through with the procedure — but only truly understood what had been done when she followed up with the male surgeon for a post-operative check-up.

      >”He informed me that he threw in a little bonus,” Shields said, revealing that in addition to the reduction, the surgeon had also performed a rejuvenation, otherwise known as vaginal tightening.

      > The Blue Lagoon actress said the doctor was “legitimately proudly” as he explained that he “threw in a little twofer.” Meanwhile, Shields was left “dumbfounded” by the revelation.

      >She added, “It felt like such an invasion — such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind.”

Wow. Informed consent exists for a reason. No wonder she feels violated, because she was…

A “bonus” for the man she sleeps with *only* without her consent. Wow.

I think this story needs a fact check so I’m willing to review before and after pictures to verify.

    5. This is obviously wrong, and basically an assault, but just as an ethical question, what would be an acceptable surgery without consent? Like, if a doctor opened me up, and saw something else that was life threatening but that I hadn’t agreed to get operated on before, I believe it would be ethical to go through with it. Is the line elective versus necessary? Life or death?

He performed a procedure she didn’t consent to, wouldn’t that be malpractice? Every time I’ve had a surgical procedure the doctor always explains exactly what they’re going to do both in the office and again before the surgery prep begins.

I just had oral surgery to remove a growth at the back of my throat. If the doctor also decides while I’m there decided my tongue was too big and reduced it “for my comfort” that would be legal.

Poor Brooke Shields. She’s like the most sexually assaulted person in history and no one is ever held accountable for their crimes against her. She’s like a reverse Donald Trump.
