As a Dane this is my view on the situation: This is our own fault. Europe is a vassal of the USA because the war of Ukraine. Europe is dependent on the US in tech, military, energy and so much more. I think it’s embarrassing that people are surprised. Our economies have completely stalled and our demographics are terrible. Our gamble with green energy has failed. It was only a matter of time. It will only get worse if we do not change the pace and understand that Europe must be master of its own house!

This is not just a distraction, people. Trump knows climate change is real, and he knows Greenland is packed with minerals and natural resources.
He also wants to raise NATO’s defense spending to 5%. He knows most European countries will never agree to that, so he will then have a reason to ignore US allies that don’t meet that standard.

The combined wealth of the Trump administration and their allies is beyond anything we’ve ever seen before. Musk’s wealth alone is bigger than Denmark’s GDP. They *are* the real elite. These people feel untouchable, and they are not wrong. Trump got away with instigating an insurrection to overthrow the government, with hiding a mountain of classified documents in his toilet at Mar-a-Lago, and with demanding 11,000 votes from Georgia’s Secretary of State. These people don’t care about the old world order, treaties, (former) allies, the rule of law and democracy. Those things are annoying obstacles that stand in the way of them becoming even more filthy rich.
If Trump wants to take Greenland by force, who’s gonna stop him? Denmark? Europe?
