I wouldn’t put it past Doug Ford to announce the early provincial election tomorrow just to screw with the Liberals. Most partisan Liberals will be too busy with leadership campaigns to focus on the provincial election. So the OLP will be lacking ground support. The CPC and NDP won’t have that problem.

And Doug Ford is not a decent guy who will kindly wait around for the Liberals to finish their leadership race. So the Ontario Liberals will need to hope Doug Ford’s ego is big enough to continue to be Captain Canada in the tariff negotiations, which he seems to be enjoying.
