This long-exposure image was taken on Dec 24th 2024 from the International Space Station as it passed over Mosambique, south-east Africa, at the altitude of 225 nautical miles (417km). Visible on Earth are city lights, as well as some thunderstorms. Above Earth, the air glow is visible, as well as Venus, star trails, and streaks from satellites.

The shot was taken using NIKON Z 9 camera and a 15mm lens at f/1.8 aperture, ISO 800, and 30-second exposure time.
