For the next 4 years and beyond, conservatives will snidefully ask “where’s your proof that our laws are causing more deaths?” And then feel validated when there’s no more institutions keeping track

Just another reminder that voting does not work. People want abortion but their representatives (ahem rulers) don’t care. Voting is just another form of population control. Get them to think you can invoke some change by ticking a name on a piece of paper and you can ensure they won’t rebel. What a joke. The only solution is to boycott and revolt

Can someone list all the times Republicans tried to ban reality like this? I remember they did something similar when it came to public health data and gun violence at the federal level. At the state level, they did the same thing by not counting or recording civilian deaths by police, to the point that UK newspapers had to do it for them. This denial of reality has been going on for a long time but we need a better accounting of it. Someone else here mentioned Florida Republicans and COVID, which reminds me that Florida did the same thing with climate change, refusing to allow it to be mentioned or discussed by state workers. Oh, and I just remembered, the GOP suppressed a 2009 DHS report which warned of future domestic terrorism from military veterans on the right.

So Georgia’s just going to adopt the stance some animals and toddlers without object permanence have in that, “If I can’t see the problem, it doesn’t exist?”

    Great…

[Even James Dobson, who later became an implacable foe of abortion, acknowledged after the Roe decision that the Bible was silent on the matter and that it was plausible for an evangelical to hold that “a developing embryo or fetus was not regarded as a full human being”.](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/sep/08/abortion-us-religious-right-racial-segregation)

Why the fuck would anyone want to have kids at this point in human history (if given a choice)?

Georgia was already dead last in maternal mortality, even before its brutal abortion prohibition went into effect. Women are not full human beings to these ghoulish politicians.

Conservative approach to science, if you don’t measure for something it must mean nothing is there
