Meta-KI-Profile gibt es seit über einem Jahr, sie waren ein kolossaler Misserfolg und viele sind bereits tot.

Another short sighted and soon to be failed “product” by Meta.

I never “friend” anyone that I’ve never met, so what were they imagining would happen here? Maybe other people use it differently…

Someone actually thought this dystopian shit was not only a good idea but a good idea to do openly.

No human could possibly want this. I kind of understand the initiative in an evil way, I do not understand the public rollout.

  4. Glad this came out. I was confused the other day because whether it’s based on an LLM or not, bots have been around for ages. They can be *better* now, but the idea hasn’t changed: person to person interaction can be risky, and ~~influencers~~ advertiser personalities are real humans with rights and cost of living.

So of *course* the capitalist class is gonna remove the humans. Every automation since the windmill is about removing the humans.

  5. Who would engage with an AI bot regularly? What kind of robot personalities mesh with which types of human personalities? Facebook is likely 100 steps ahead, but guaranteed someone is working on mapping this data.

How about if we all took advantage of the fact that the year is starting and just deleted all our accounts on Meta products? What real difference does this make to our lives? #DeleteMeta

Is there a way to save all of your memories before deleting it. I stopped using it a long time ago but I really want to keep the memories of my kids?

Character AI was (is?) popular, so the market for this is bigger than zero. I’m not part of that market and I’m not really sure who is.

Maybe if they had picked more iconic and interesting figures, like the Machiavelli bot that comments on politics or the Shaggy and Scooby bot that gives funny reviews of obscure snack foods it could have worked. My guess is that their pretty generic profiles were not interesting to follow so they could only gather haters.

    “Many are already dead.”

    They bleed…
