      I liked Twitter

      X not so much.

      X has become swamped with vile and racist people.

      I support free speech but not free speech that gives people the ability to spew vomit all for gaining followers or worse, monetization.

      Every time on go on to X I am subjected to algorithms that clog my timeline with the worst of humanity (maybe slight hyperbole)

      I now barely use it.

      In two years X/Twitters popularity rank has had a massive drop in internet connections, determined from DNS usage. In the January 2023 the Cloudflare domain ranking was #32 now its #59

      Domain ranking is a measure of popularity deducted from DNS usage statistics. Every time you access X/Twitter, Facebook, Google etc you have to access a DNS service to convert a human readable name into the format (IP address) that the internet understands. DNS is the phonebook of the internet.

      I was planning on disconnecting more from social media after the election anyways. If it’s not fake news, its real news that’s just depressing af, people complaining about nonsense or stuff that won’t be relevant in a few hours, massive egos trying to win rather useless arguments, or just AI/bots playing amongst themselves. Such an exhaustive experience, but at least it’s motivated me to move to the mountains of Japan so I can get some peace and quiet:)
