    “Creepy and unnecessary”

I imagine most people have the same criticism of Zuck.

  2. They are just going to not say it’s AI next time. They want them because then they get to claim x new accounts created and people get followers which makes them use the app more.

  3. “…there are still many AI chatbots available on Meta platforms that are generated by users. Some of the most popular ones on Instagram are female “girlfriend” AI characters.”

    garbage in, garbage out.

sure, these idiot companies are making the dumbest decisions, but thats cause its led by the dumbest, saddest shit that people want.

  4. Facebook was designed (apparently) for HUMAN interaction. Being as blindly influential as it is, why in the blue fuck, did Zuckerfuck think adding computer generated personas would be a good idea?! Oh, that’s right… money.

One can easily tell this guy is a genius /s

Theyre just gonna do the same thing and not declare it its facebook everyone on there will think they know better they did their own research by watching terminator

I highly doubt the accounts are going away. Maybe the ones people know about. But they’ll still do it and just not *tell you* that the accounts are AI.

The lizard man at it again lmao, the world has 8 billion people, enough to cause ruckus on internet already, no need AI accounts too

  8. I reckon people want AI to make life easier, not harder and more confusing. Go figure.

AI agents that perform work are clearly the next step. When AI is doing all the work, I don’t think I need them as friends; I’ll have tons of free time to spend with friends and family as we forage for food and shelter.

  9. We made a website that connects people all over the world, and some connections aren’t even real people

LLMs are excellent information repositories that help users ask questions, retrieve information and then gain additional context and understanding. In addition to that, these systems are excellent at proofreading and suggesting edits that stream line ones own writing. In regards to these common use cases, LLMs are fantastic tools.

All these tech companies want so badly for the LLMs to be more than what they are, so that they can cash in. Using LLMs to roleplay personas isn’t ground breaking or useful, and it’s already been done to death by people running local models. No one really wants pre made fake people to talk to, we have more than enough real people to ignore. These desperate attempts to recoup their investments are frustrating to end users, and are actively contributing to the ubiquitous shittification of the internet.

How is this legal with the ads ? Didn’t a guy get arrested for a similar business model on Spotify ?

Zuckerberg SHOCKED that yet again users as always declare the new Initiative by Meta to be weird and fucking creepy

Don’t worry, they’ll be back at some point but you won’t know it

It was always going to fail. Very obviously. I imagine there is some other change to TOS or something quietly happening elsewhere that they want to stay in the background while everyone raves over the stupid AI feature that was never going to be permanent.

They were perceived as creepy and unnecessary? Oh my, how could the Meta product team ever have foreseen this?

Meta leadership really has to be the dumbest kind of echo-chamber you can imagine if they thought this would be a good idea.

I love how nobody wants all theae AI “features” despite all these dipshit companies paying for it.

The fact that they were excited about an influx of bot accounts (let’s call them what they are) makes me question their entire business plan. I don’t use Facebook or any of that kind of stuff anyway, but who the fuck thinks bots are a good idea unless they have truly shady intentions?
