      The Military Department of Texas has an annual budget of 1.8 billion dollars, putting it ahead of some notable nations, including 8 members of NATO (Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, and Bulgaria)
      Edit: they’re actually requesting 2.4 billion for 25

      That’s rather underwhelming. Non of those countries have anything special militarily.

      Small, poor countries vs Texas, a $2.6 trillion economy (larger than Canada, Brazil and Italy).

      The well known huge Bosnian military budget… How does one know that Croatia and Serbia(around 1.3B) have a smaller budget than Texas, but Bosnia with it’s 0.2B is on the map with a bigger budget than Taxas.

      This map needs to be updated after Jan 20. Greenland, Panama and Canada should be same color as US

      Yeah, Texas sorta sucks. The US would be fine without their stinkin’ ass. Fucking Florida wouldn’t real be missed much either.

      This isn’t the flex anyone thinks this could be. Texas is a huge and strategically important state for the USA. Produces a sizable proportion of petroleum, natural gas, grain, cattle, and multitudes of other durable goods, machinery and commodities. Also has important military assets. It makes complete sense the US spends so much in Texas. They’re not actually competing with Mongolia or Madagascar for military expenditures.

      Fun fact, if this meant the Texas defense budget and not the budget for national guard and the like, then only 6 nations(including the US) would be above Texas. Texas is also the number 1 highest state by defense budget followed by Virginia and California.
