    This is absolutely wild.

“Nah, too hard, we can’t beat him at hide and seek, so we’ll just give up.”

  2. I was shocked to see this update. I genuinely don’t understand how they can’t stay there all weekend if necessary and arrest anyone who assists in blocking their procedures.

Seems like a complete farce and fumble from law enforcement.

  3. This is bonkers. And where’s the Constitutional Court? Are they taking an extra-long lunch break or something? A ruling from them as to the legality of this would resolve the issue one way or the other. Can they not issue emergency rulings?

    Outrageous!

Edit: adding, I am watching from afar and honestly I am so frustrated with how this is unfolding, allowing someone to blatantly flout the rule of law and with each step being more and more emboldened. This does nothing to restore the community’s faith in the courts, police, and government.

Success always depended on how much they were willing to get their hands dirty, how much they were willing to use force if necessary. Yoon was never going to just give up. There was way too much focus on “let’s let him keep his dignity because after all he’s president”.

Next time, use brute force, call the SWAT team, break down doors, use tear gas, yell, arrest everyone. Glad it’s only paused, not called off.

  6. Wait, pacing around the property for a couple hours didn’t actually do anything? I feel like being this pathetic is a dangerous precedent. It will leave lasting impressions that they in fact can just keep doing shit like this without consequences.

never change korea, enforcement of law here is an absolute joke.

i guess the flip side is it works in your favor if it’s something bad like a coup attempt (like failing to prevent the assembly from entering).

just literally detain one person after the other until you get to the president. they were standing around for fucking hours lol.

    Absolutly unbelievable.

Just arrest anyone who stands in your way. What’s the problem? This shit is pathetic.

Hopefully Yoon just shoots himself so we can all move on.

  9. kdrama at its best. Bollocks all around. There’s nothing it seems in their constitution to remove a president from the presidential palace 😂. So Hoon has not left the presidential palace since Dec 12 in anticipation of an arrest. I reckon they are stalling for time until Trump takes over and hoping he will come to Yoon’s aid as he was a pro-US president

This morning, 120 personnel from the CIO and the police force went for a nice picnic at the presidential residence where they got to have a nice meet and greet with members of the security service.

  11. This is absolute ridiculous. How can PSS & the military unit blocked the investigator from serving the warrant without any consequences?

These people need to be arrested and investigated as well.

Whoever is doing payroll needs to stop all direct deposits to the guards. They don’t deserve government paychecks while violating the law. Also have the electricity and gas turned off to the Presidential compound, freeze him out both literally and figuratively.

  13. You don’t want to risk a shoot out. Fine. Blockade the place and prevent any food from getting in. Fucking do something.

The Presidential Security Service is commanded by the military, but answers only to the President. It appears that the acting President did not give any orders, and the security simply listened to the suspended President Yoon.

Halting makes no sense if it is a legal proceeding, which I think it is. The PPP has to talk some sense into Yoon – at this point in time, his refusal to comply with the law backfires onto the PPP.

How about they barricade the perimeter of the property and starve him out?
