The search for free VPNs shot up like an erect…building.

    2. Seen this behavior in every other state that’s done this. This isn’t a surprise, nor should it be.

    3. Florida didn’t ban porn.

      [PornHub banned Florida](https://www.newsweek.com/florida-lose-pornhub-access-2002621).

Edit: why all the downvotes? Are redditors assuming I SUPPORT Florida’s new law, or that I have a problem with PornHub restricting access from Florida in response to the new law? I don’t. I think it’s both appropriate and hilarious that PorhHub’s response to Florida’s legislated prudeness is “if that’s how you want to play, we don’t need you”.

PornHub banned Florida, and I salute them for it.

    4. I’d love to see how many of the puritanical politicians that enacted this law are now paying for VPNs to bypass it.

    5. It’s a lot easier to just vote for decent politicians that aren’t religious nut jobs that want to impose a Christian nationalist government’s will on free speech and encroachment on privacy, but you do you Florida Man.

Porn sites should start getting into the VPN business. They’ll double their revenue.

Is the company also involved in VPN services? If not, it ought to be.

Why bother? There’s literally thousands of other porn sites that won’t bother complying with the ID law

    9. What I don’t understand is there a million different free porn sites similar to pornhub. It’s only one site.

Serious question here. Does this law ban access to all porn sites without age verification? Is porn completed closed off in Florida without a VPN?

I would like to say this not under a comment. This is a safety measure to protect underage kids and ensure that they are not accessing porn. Porn sites are working with secure third party apps that allow you to simply take a picture of your face, the app will scan you and estimate what age you are, and then delete the pic but store your age to use on different sites. This has been enacted in texas for about a year now. VPN’s bypass it, but simply making an account and storing the integer that says yes i am 18+ given by the third party app is ultimately easier.
Edit: the other even less secure form is storing a picture of a government ID, but currently as far as ik, no one trusts that. Als, why tf are people downvoting this when i’m literally just telling you how it works😂

I stopped viewing porn a long time ago.

Enlighten me, can’t they just not use pornhub and use one of the hundreds or thousands of other free porn sites? Why even bother with a vpn?

Florida’s new export: VPN search expertise. Looks like Florida just invented the fastest way to turn everyone into cybersecurity experts.
