On November 17, in Sumy, 9-year-old Illia Doroshenko lost his life. He was an only child and dreamed of becoming a city bus driver. He and his parents fought for his life since he was born as during pregnancy his mom contracted a flu which affected him severely. At the time of the shelling he was in his room playing on an I-Pad. That day, 11 people were killed.
On October 22, in Sumy, 14-year-old Anna Kushnarova was killed in her home. The girl died along with her mother and aunt as a result of a Russian “Shahed” drone strike. Anna loved animals and participated in national competitions with her dog, Yuma. She was set to celebrate her 15th birthday on November 8. Yuma, her dog, survived, and now is being cared for by Anna’s father.
On August 8, in the village of Mohrytsia, 6-year-old Dmytro Shapoval was killed along with his 23 year old brother as his brother took him for a play time outside. At that time, Russian forces struck the village with a guided aerial bomb.
Also on November 17, 14-year-old Anastasiia Borovyk was killed in a missile strike. She was a 9th-grade student and dreamed of becoming a forensic investigator since she was very little. She was an only child. When the russian rocket struck – Anastasiia was sitting on a couch watching a movie. Her mom rushed to her and Anastsiia was still awake and told her mom she can’t feel her legs. Her internal organs were shredded and she died moments later.
The life of Yehor Antipov was taken by a Russian shelling on July 27, 2024. When the enemy launched shells at the city, the boy was in the yard of the building where he lived. “I was at work and somehow felt that something had happened. I started calling my son, but it wasn’t Yehor who answered—it was a soldier named Yevhen. He had found my son. I ran there, and Yevhen and I took my son to the hospital by taxi. My son was unconscious but still breathing. A fragment from the shell had severed an artery… At the hospital, my son passed away. Yevhen stayed with our family constantly. He took care of everything related to the funeral, and now he is our friend,” Yehor’s mother shared.
On November 18, 2024, 7-year-old Nykyta was killed along with his mom Tetiana Chala and brother, 21-year-old Vasyl. The family had evacuated to Hlukhiv about six months ago from the Esman community in hopes to find safety from russian shelling.
Russia is, still, a terrorist state… with a lot of terrorist friends, doing terrorist things. The international court at The Hague is going to be busy for years.
