How do the Electoral Vote counts work in the first two maps?

The girls use the Democratic primary and the boys use the Republican primary? lol (insert comment on the political gender divide here)

You live on an island and you name your kid Island? I should just name my kid Continent

  4. Predictably, the boy name wins. More male human children are born than female because males are slightly more likely to die in adolescence. This is natures way of keeping things even.

It’s kind of cute that Isla is the most popular girl name on an archipelago.

  6. Six of the eight most popular women’s names are also characters on the US soap opera “General Hospital”.

    * Valentina is used in its male format, Valentin, on that show, but the name is so close that I will allow it.

I wonder if we’ve ever had a previous instance where the male/female names at the top were related like Oliver/Olivia. Maybe there was a Jean/John in the past? Probably Michelle/Michael at some point too.

Ok, something really weird and random. Am trans, and very active in the trans community. These are all by far also the most popular names trans people pick for themselves.
