I find it interesting that RI has more than CT does. Connecticut has over 2 million more people than RI.
So 1% or less of the population is employed to build, run, maintain and operate the tools and structures of government and core infrastructure.
Because they are federal that’s a bad thing is it? Would people prefer the services the provide were run by organisations like the health insurance “providers?”

Edit: we’re also getting close to posting all the created maps using 2 variables. Then, I’m simplifying it to 2 maps each, raw numbers (r/peopleliveincities for 9/10 maps) and then per capita. I’m doing this to prevent reading-challenged people from complaining about not understanding raw number labels with chloropleths. I think I only have around 5-6 maps in this style left.

Does this count just civil servants and military personnel, or does it also include contract workers? Agencies like NASA depend upon a huge number of contractors rather than government employees.
I’d like to see this broken down between the eastern panhandle, and the rest of WV.
